Standoff ends peacefully in El Dorado
A suspect in a domestic violence complaint barricaded himself in his house for about three hours early Thursday in El Dorado.
A news release says the man is known to own firearms, including rifles, so El Dorado police requested assistance from the Butler County SWAT team. Officers evacuated several homes around the suspect's residence in the 400 block of Hillside.
Officers could see someone draw the curtains and the man had apparently moved furniture in front of doors.
The man finally surrendered peacefully and allowed himself to be arrested by SWAT personnel at about 5 a.m. Thursday. He was taken to Susan B. Allen Hospital and transported to the Butler County Correction facility. The man was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated battery involving domestic violence.
