Woman hit by car, faces citation for crossing against the signal
A woman in her 60s was hit by a car and critically injured in east Wichita Wednesday night, and she also faces a citation for crossing against the signal at a crosswalk.
The accident happened in the 500 block of North Hillside, in a crosswalk in front of Wesley Medical Center. The woman was hit by a southbound car.
Lieutenant Joe Schroeder said the woman was admitted to Wesley, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. She had broken bones and facial lacerations. Schroeder said it is illegal to enter a crosswalk when the signal says not to.
The 49-year-old woman who was driving the car was arrested for driving with a suspended license and for not having proof of insurance.
