Man stabbed multiple times in fight near Arkansas River
A man was seriously injured after he was stabbed multiple times Saturday night in the 400 block of West Central.
It happened behind an apartment complex near the river shortly before 9 p.m.
Wichita Police Lt. Kevin Mears said two residents of the apartment complex got into an argument with two homeless people. During the the disturbance, one of the homeless people apparently stabbed one of the residents multiple times in the chest and abdomen.
He was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in serious condition. Mears said at the scene that the two homeless people are known to police and officers are working to locate them.
