Father charged after kids were injured in crash
Wichita police believe alcohol played a role in a 26-year-old man crashing the vehicle he was driving into a parked car with his two children in the vehicle.
The children, ages 4 and 2, were taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment of injuries they suffered in the accident in the 3200 block of south Gold around midnight.
Witnesses tell police they saw a vehicle traveling north on Gold at a high rate of speed around the time the accident happened.
The 4-year-old suffered a skull fracture, while the 2-year-old suffered only minor injuries. An update on the condition of the children was not immediately available.
Brunow said the man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated child endangerment, aggravated battery and other traffic charges.
