Fatal crash occurs in western Kansas
A Kansas City, Kan. man was killed and his wife seriously injured after their motorcycle was hit by a pickup on K-96, a mile east of US Highway 83 in Scott County.
Patrick Vega, 51, died at the scene while 49-year-old Shelly Vega was flown by Eagle Med to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis. The Kansas Highway Patrol said the pickup driver, 63-year-old Charles Brooks of Scott City, turned left in front of the westbound Harley Davidson. He was not hurt.
The crash happened a few minutes after 5 p.m. Sunday.
