4 children taken into protective custody at Wichita home
Wichita police officers took four children into protective custody after forcing their way into the bedroom of a north side home.
Police were called to a home in the 600 block of North Grove around 3 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a residential robbery.
Lieutenant Steve Kenney said officers had to force open a bedroom door, They found two adults and four children inside. The adults, a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, were under the influence of an unknown substance and they were taken to a hospital.
Police took a 2-year-old girl and three boys, ages 1, 3 and 5, to the Wichita Children's Home.
The case is still under investigation.
