Large grass fire in Barber County
A truck with a blown tire has set off a large grass fire at mile marker 13 on South US 281 Highway.
A witness said it is approximately eight miles north of the K-2 US 281 junction, or 13 miles north of Hardtner. It is in the vicinity of Gerlane Road in Barber County.
The Kiowa , Hardtner-Elwood Township, Hazelton and Barber County fire departments are responding to the scene. Travel south of Medicine Lodge is discouraged. Winds are 18-31mph from the south.
It's unknown if any structures are threatened.
