Infant critical after breathing methamphetamine fumes
A Wichita woman and a male acquaintance were booked for aggravated child endangerment.
Wichita Police said the arrest was made after it was learned her 8-month-old daughter was found high on methamphetamine by EMS near Pawnee and Broadway en route to the hospital Monday afternoon.
Her mother had claimed the injuries were suffered in a fall off her daughter's bed, and that she struck her head. Police Lt. Joe Schroeder said officers later found drugs and other items at the mother's home in the 4600 block of South Broadway.
Schroeder said the mother is 34, and her acquaintance is 50. SRS and EMCU are investigating.
