Wingnuts on brink of elimination
The Wichita Wingnuts lost game two of the best-of-five American Association Championship series to the Winnipeg Goldeyes 7-3 Wednesday night.
The two-out hit was the story on Wednesday, with Winnipeg scoring six of their seven runs with two outs in an inning.
Wichita held a 3-1 lead unti the bottom of the sixth inning, when Amos Ramon hit a three-run home run off Ryan Hinson to give the Goldeyes the lead for good. Ryan Hinson took the loss for the Wingnuts, giving up five earned runs in 5-2/3 innings pitched.
Wichita looks to keep its season going Friday night, when the series shifts to Wichita for game three. First pitch at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium is slated for 7:05 p.m.
