5 children taken into protective custody
Wichita police took five children into protective custody on Wednesday afternoon after a school nurse reported possible abuse.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the nurse at the Gordon Parks Academy noticed bruises on twin 6-year-old boys, and she reported that to police. Officers went to a home and found three other children, a 7-month-old boy, a 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. They were all placed in protective custody.
Nolte said no arrests have been made.
