HIV/AIDS expert Dr. Donna Sweet hosts annual picnic fundraiser
Its about time for the 18th Annual Sweet A'fair Picnic to raise money to provide critical care for HIV patients in the Wichita area.
The need for the fund has increased as people with HIV are living longer. The Tuesday, September 18th, event is hosted by well-known HIV/AIDS expert and KU Wichita Internal Medicine Midtown Physician, Dr. Donna Sweet, in a large yard at her home. The proceeds from the annual event go to The Sweet Emergency Fund, which helps provide critical care for those living with HIV who have an inability to pay for their life-saving medications.
Guests are urged to park at 21st Street North and Oliver and take a free trolley to the picnic area from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Organizers said a $25.00 donation is suggested for the evening, which includes food, beverages, a live and silent auction, live entertainment, a photo booth and more. Donations can also be made to the Sweet Emergency Fund, KU School of Medicine-Wichita MPA, 1010 North Kansas, 67214.
