Three children taken into protective custody
A Wichita woman and her 5 year-old son had a close call after her husband tried to run them over with a car.
Police said it happened about 8:30 Thursday morning in the 4600 block of South Laclede. " In trying to strike her he hit the house " Police Lt. Doug Nolte said. The couple's five year-old son narrowly missed being struck by the car. The husband, 31, drove away, but was found later.
Officer's also noticed the condition of the home. " Once officers were out at the house on Laclede, they were concerned about the living conditions. The three children were taken into police protective custody due to poor living conditions." Nolte said. The Exploited and Missing Child Unit was called to investigate the case.
