Around $750,000 in damage was done to electrical systems at Kaman Industrial Park, located in the 800 block of East 21st Street.

Wichita Police Sergeant Bart Brunscheen said a person who works at the facility noticed a large pile of heavy-strand copper wire on the north end of the park and alerted police about 3:45 p.m. Friday. Brunscheen said it is not clear when the exact crime occurred.

"The person investigates further and finds that someone had been on the roof and tearing out various electrical systems in order to get to the copper wire," Brunscheen says.

Police believe 2,000 feet of copper wire was stolen.

Brunscheen said detectives are looking for a person of interest in the case.
