Six injured in deck collapse
A 24-year-old man was rushed to Wesley Medical Center with a possible skull fracture and brain bleed after the deck he and five others were standing on collapsed.
Wichita Police Sergeant Bart Brunscheen said the collapse happened around 2:45 a.m. Sunday at a birthday party in the 3100 block of East Conamore.
A 22-year-old woman suffered a broken ankle, while four others suffered various minor injuries.
Sergeant Brunscheen said it is not clear whether the deck failed due to faulty construction or there being too much weight on it.
