U-turn leads to traffic death in Stafford County
A man from El Paso, Texas has died in a two-vehicle crash in Stafford County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a pickup driven by 67-year-old Amador Holguin-Rodriquez was southbound on U.S. 281 and stopped on the shoulder of the road. Troopers say the pickup attempted a U-turn in front of another pickup.
The crash sent both trucks into a ditch. Holguin-Rodriquez was thrown out of the pickup and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. The man driving the second pickup, 28-year-old Jordon Hickel of Great Bend, was not hurt.
The crash happened just before two p.m. Sunday, 12 miles north of St. John.
