A 45-year-old man told Wichita police he was struck on the head and robbed near the downtown area early Monday.

The man said he was walking along the Arkansas River in the 200 block of North Waco when he heard someone yelling at him to give up his money. He was then struck on the head and knocked unconscious, and when he woke up, he found that his shoes and socks were gone, as well as some cash from his pocket.

The man went to the Sedgwick County Jail to get help. He was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.  He told officers that his attackers may have been Hispanic men, one of them around 6-feet-1-inch tall and 185 pounds, wearing a purple shirt and blue jeans.
