A blind Wichita man woke up around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning because he felt his residence was too cold. He soon found out his home in the 300 block of E. Marion Ct. was burglarized.

"He woke up and the temperature in the residence was very cold," said Wichita Police Lt. Doug Nolte. "He got up to see if there was a door open. He found that his sliding glass door had been opened. This concerned him because he did not remember having the door open."

The 33-year-old man woke his roommate, who confirmed the home was burglarized. Several hundred dollars in property, including an iPhone and the man's wallet, were stolen.

Nolte said the burglary probably happened a couple hours before 4 a.m. because the man was woken by the cold temperatures. He did not know if the victim was targeted because he was blind.
