WPD interviewing "persons of interest" in home invasion shooting
Wichita police detectives took in two "persons of interest" in connection with a home invasion robbery and shooting that took place early Tuesday in the 2200 block of South Fountain.
The young male victim, who was reportedly shot in the abdomen when he refused to go along with the robbers' demands, is expected to pull through.
"The prognosis is good," said Police Lt. Doug Nolte, who received a medical update on the victim late Tuesday morning. "From that standpoint he's very lucky."
While progress is being made in the case, there had been no official arrests as of Tuesday afternoon.
"Depending on what comes out of the interviews, detectives will decide where to proceed with the case," Nolte said.
