United Way, Airbus team to encourage aviation careers for middle schoolers
A partnership between Airbus and the United Way will aim to encourage local middle school students to pursue a career in aviation.
Brooks Middle School students will take part in the Flying Challenge on Monday at Exploration Place.
The program pairs Airbus engineers and Wichita State University engineering students with at-risk students. Middle schoolers will witness how workers use math and science in their professions through tour exhibits, a science show and an IMAX film on flight.
The Airbus Corporate Foundation will donate up to $250,000 to the United Way to facilitate the Flying Challenge.
