Man found guilty of murder in December shooting
One of five people arrested in a shooting death in Oaklawn has been convicted of first-degree murder and six other felonies.
A Sedgwick County jury on Monday found Reginald Dupree guilty for his role in the Dec. 14 shooting death of 19-year-old Markez Phillips.
Prosecutors said Phillips was killed during a robbery at his girlfriend's house. Two young children were in the home at the time.
The Associated Press reports the alleged shooter, Malek Brown, is scheduled to stand trial in October.
Dupree's lawyer told the jury during the trial that his client was at the home when it was robbed but did not know anyone was going to be robbed or shot.
