Southwest Kansas man dead after two vehicle crash
An Offerle, Kan. man is dead after the pickup he was driving was struck by a car.
It happened on US-50 Highway on 127th Road just before 9 a.m. Monday in Ford County. Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers said 39-year-old Tonia Rumbaugh of Dodge City was northbound in a 2008 Toyota when she stopped at a stop sign.
She pulled out from the stop sign and didn't see an oncoming westbound pickup truck driven by 44-year-old Dale Wetzel. Troopers said the impact caused a 2003 Chevrolet pickup to roll twice. The final resting place for both vehicles was in the north ditch.
Troopers said Wetzel later died at Dodge City Hospital from his injuries. Rumbaugh was not hurt. Troopers said Wetzel was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
