Haysville area boy has minor injuries after struck by car
A 12-year-old Haysville-area boy escaped with minor injuries after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car.
The crash happened just after 6:30 a.m.Tuesday on Seneca north of 79th Street South. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department investigated the crash. A spokeswoman said it was dark at the time of the accident.
She said two vehicles were stopped at the stop sign for east and west bound traffic on 79th Street South. The eastbound driver saw he boy who was northbound on Seneca, but the westbound driver did not and hit the bicycle. The boy had lights on front and back of his bicycle.
The boy was taken to a Wichita hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The boy's father arrived a short time later to pick up the bicycle. The driver of the car was not given a ticket.
