For the second time in two weeks, someone tried to steal a woman's purse at the Walgreens near Harry and Edgemoor.

A man came up from behind a 68-year-old woman walking into the store and grabbed at her purse just after 5 p.m. on Monday.

"It ended up pulling the purse from the shoulder, breaking the strap," said Wichita Police Lt. Doug Nolte. "This caused the victim to fall down, causing bruising on her arm."

The suspect fled without the purse. A witness chased him before he got away near Parkwood and Harry.

In this incident, the man is described as black, 5-feet-2-inches to 5-feet-4-inches tall, 18-25 years old with a stocky build. He was wearing a white T-Shirt, black shorts and black shoes.
