Teenager arrested for robbing Valero gas station
Two young men robbed the Valero gas station early Wednesday at Central and Ridge Road in west Wichita.
Wichita Police Lt. Mike Hennessy said the men took an unknown amount of cash from the business and ran to the west. A young clerk called 911 and officers arrived quickly.
Officers had some solid evidence to help them in their search. They saw muddy footprints leading from the store to a nearby apartment complex. They found a 17-year-old suspect who was hiding.
Hennessy said a juvenile suspect was arrested to the west of the business.
"A gun was recovered along with some of the clothing (worn) by the suspect and some of the money," said Hennessy.
The boy who was arrested gave detectives the name of a second 17-year-old suspect, who remains on the loose.
