Hot embers spark westside catering business fire
Embers from an open smoker fire box caught some materials on fire at Air Capital Catering, said Wichita Fire Investigations Captain Stewart Bevis.
Heavy smoke and high flames were spotted near Kellogg and Hoover Road about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Most of the fire was in an area under an awning outside that housed a smoker and roasting equipment.
About $40,000 worth of damage was done. The building was vacant when the fire started.
