Standoff in Salina
Salina Police are involved in a standoff that began just after midnight near 13th and Elm Street on the city's northwest side. Our news partners at KWCH 12 report that police were called to the 300 block of north Elm on the report of a shooting.
At least one person has been taken to the hospital by paramedics, but authorities haven't released any more details. Salina Police and SWAT teams do have the house surrounded and have asked everyone to stay inside of their homes.
KWCH 12 says a man has barricaded himself inside of the home and police have fired tear gas and smoke bombs inside to try to force him outside. So far, there is no word on whether or not the suspect has surrendered and no other details have been released.
