Firefighters working in south Wichita
Wichita firefighters were dispatched to the 1400 block of East Catalina at 5:50 a.m. today for the report of a house fire.
When they arrived they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the residence. A 911 dispatcher said the person who phoned in the report said the home is vacant. The home is near the intersection of 31st Street South and Hydraulic. Firefighters declared the fire under control at about 6:15 a.m.
