Hutchinson Community College growing quickly
New figures show that enrollment at Hutchinson Community College grew more than at any other community college in Kansas last year.
The Associated Press reports that, according to numbers released by the Kansas Board of Regents on Thursday, Garden City Community College is a close second in enrollment growth.
Figures from the Kansas Board of Regents for fall 2012 show that Hutchinson Community College had a 10.77 percent increase from 2011, with 6,159 students. Garden City Community College was up 10.28 percent, with 2,059 students.
Overall enrollment slipped 0.15 percent at four-year Regents institutions and 0.19 percent at community colleges.
Enrollment at technical colleges across Kansas, however, grew. Enrollment at the six technical colleges stands 13.4 percent higher than last year.
