Wichita Police are sorting out details after a disturbance between father and son resulted in a stabbing.

Police were called to Meridian and Orient about 11:30 a.m. Monday. Lt. Guy Schroeder said officers arrived to find several witnesses and the victim at the scene. A man believed to be in his 60s was found on the street on Orient, just east of Meridian.

"The officers originally gave a 'code yellow,' which means it's not critical. When EMS arrived, they gave a 'code red,'" Schroeder said.

Investigators are still checking on what started the verbal argument.

"The victim was in the van. He was accosted by the suspect (son) in the van, exited the vehicle and collapsed in the street," said Schroeder.

The man's son was arrested at the scene. Two other people in the van at the time were not hurt during the disturbance.
