Wichita man charged with murder of girlfriend
A Wichita man has been charged with 1st degree murder for the death of his girlfriend, whose body was found in a ditch last weekend near 55th Street South and Meridian.
41-year-old Anson Bernhardt made his first appearance in court Wednesday in connection with the death of 38-year-old Amber Kostner. A hearing was scheduled for October 17th.
Kostner's body was found September 30th, and Sedgwick County sheriff's investigators say she had been living with Bernhardt since the spring. She apparently died of blunt force trauma, and detectives believe her death was the result of an argument with Bernhardt.
