Wichita Festivals asks community for Riverfest ideas
Wichita Festivals, Inc. is asking for the community's help to spice up Riverfest.
The organization asks for event ideas yearly. Riverfest sports more than 60 events each year.
"We hope that people will give some thought to what kind of things they'd like to see in the festival, and step forward to not only give us those ideas, but to help us organize them," said Janet Wright, President and CEO.
A public forum is also in the works.
"We will be announcing a date for a meeting in October where we will invite the public to come share ideas that they have for events with us," Wright said.
Submissions can also be made online at www.wichitariverfestival.com. The organization suggests locations in the downtown river core area and reasonable prices for participants and sponsors.
The deadline for submissions is Nov. 16.
Riverfest is scheduled for May 31 through June 8.
