Two hurt in Reno Co. train collision
Two people were taken to Hutchinson Regional Hospital after the car they were in was struck by a train. It happened shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday on Avery Road near K61, about 3 miles north of Langdon.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the driver, 20-year-old Ben Tucker of St. John, was trying to beat the train to the crossing, but was struck by the train. He was not seriously hurt.
Perla Desantiago-Rodriguez, 20, and Johnathan Paul Whitecloud Hysom, 20, were taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment. Both were wearing their seatbelts.
