Police use taser to subdue woman with sword
Wichita police officers used a taser to subdue a woman who was carrying a sword during a domestic disturbance at a north side apartment.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said officers were called to the 1000 block of North McLean, when a 75-year-old woman reported that her daughter had taken some pills. Nolte said a 47-year-old woman answered the door with a sword in her hand, and she said she had tried to overdose on some pills.
Nolte said the woman refused to drop the sword, and officers used a taser to take her into custody. She was taken to a hospital for examination.
