Congested traffic again around the Bombardier plant
For the second morning, Wichita Police advised motorists to avoid Tyler Road from Kellogg to K-42 because of traffic congestion from the Machinists Union strike at Bombardier Learjet.
Peggy Gross of Bombardier said employees trying to get past the picket line on Tyler should use the east gate off Ridge Road and the north gate off Woodchuck. Gross said contractors should continue to park on the west side.
Gross said a court injunction limits the number of picketers on the line.
"If an employee tells a striker he or she wants to get in and go to work, that person on the picket line is supposed to back away and let the car through," said Gross.
KFDI's John Wright reported bumper-to-bumper traffic on the east side of the plant.
