Construction for new Mid-Continent Airport terminal has begun
Early construction on the new terminal building is underway at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita.
The $160 million project will replace the existing Mid-Continent terminal built in 1954. The state-of-the-art terminal will feature interior designs, as well as, modern operational and security enhancements. Air Service and Business Development Manager, Valerie Wise, said the project is funded with airport passenger and aviation user fees, not tax dollars. City, state and federal officials held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new terminal in early September. The new terminal is scheduled to open in 2015.
