Man shot in southeast Wichita house
Just before 1:30 a.m., a man in his late 20s was taken to a hospital in critical condition following after being shot in the shoulder in the 800 block of south Drury Lane.
"I think the victim and the suspect knew each other or knew of each other," said Wichita Police Lt. Jose Salcido. "We do have a pretty good, strong motive. But I'm not ready to release that. I'll let the investigators look it over. They can release that later this morning.
"Multiple neighbors called into 911 following the shooting."
Lieutenant Joe Schroeder said the suspect was hitting the victim with the gun when it went off.
A search continues for the man with the gun. The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
