AT&T $10,000 donation to help Kansas hispanic students
The Kansas Hispanic Education and Development Foundation received a $10,000 donation from AT&T.
Under the partnership, the contribution will allow the organization to provide scholarships and fund college readiness workshops to help 135 Hispanic students in Wichita Public Schools succeed in college. The college readiness workshop is named Tu Futuro: Through Education & Leadership.
"AT&T is proud to support the great work of KHEDF in Wichita," said Les Depperschmidt, Director of external affairs with AT&T in Wichita. "Not just AT&T, but all of American business has an enormous stake in developing the workforce of the future. It takes all of us working together to continue to improve high school graduation rates and preparedness for college and careers."
KHEDF has earmarked $5,000 for scholarships for Hispanic high school seniors pursing post secondary education.
"KHEDF is extremely grateful for AT&T's generous support, and we are looking forward to advancing our mission of turning Hispanic youth's college dreams into college degrees," said Yolanda Camarena, President of the Kansas Hispanic Education & Development Foundation.
