Four in custody after Wichita McDonald's robbery
Wichita Police were watchful of people in a car that seemed to be staking out McDonald's restaurants.
It later led them to four suspects in a robbery.
Someone placed an order at the McDonald's drive-thru in the 2200 block of N. Amidon around 3 a.m. When the car pulled up, it left a large gap between the clerk's window and the vehicle.
"When the clerk opened the sliding glass window, a white male ran up, informed him he had a gun and this was a robbery," said Lt. Joe Schroeder.
The suspect took money from the register and ran south. He later hopped into the fleeing car - one that matched the description of the car that concerned officers earlier.
"They had no reason to stop it (earlier), but did make note of it," Schroeder said. "When the robbery came out and the suspect vehicle description came out, they immediately began looking for that vehicle again."
Schroeder said the car was found about 20 minutes later. Evidence from the crime was found in the vehicle.
A 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, as well as a 19-year-old woman and 17-year-old woman, were taken into custody.
