Masked man robs check cashing store
A masked man threatened an employee with a gun and robbed the Check Into Cash store at 7809 E. Harry.
The holdup was reported at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The employee said the robber was wearing a Halloween mask like the one made famous in the "Scream" movies. The robber was further described as an African-American man, about 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, with a stocky build. He was wearing sneakers with red soles.
No one saw exactly where the robber went after he got the money.
"He ran to the west and probably ran south, and that probably where a car was waiting for him," said Police Sgt. Bruce Watts.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
