Man beaten while sitting in car in downtown Wichita
A 27-year-old man was beaten while sitting in his car in downtown Wichita early Friday morning. The man told officers he was in his car in the 200 block of North Washington shortly after 2 a.m. when another man walked up and began punching him through an open window of the car.
Wichita Police Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the victim reported that he was hit around 15 times. The man went to a hospital in serious condition with a facial fracture, broken teeth and a perforated eardrum.
The victim told police he didn't know his attacker. He described the man as African-American, around 5-feet-7-inches tall and 180 pounds.
