Exploited and Missing Child Unit checks case of abuse
So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the latest child abuse case in Wichita.
A woman brought her 10-week-old daughter to Wesley Medical Center to get her checked out Monday morning because the child's eyes were rolling to the back of her head and she acted lethargic.
"Mom took the baby to the ER, at which time they did a CAT scan on the baby and noticed a significant amount of brain trauma," Lt. Doug Nolte said. "The child underwent surgery and was placed in police protective custody."
"The baby had been with the father the previous eight hours," Nolte said.
