Wesley Medical Center guard hurt in ruckus with skateboarders
A Wesley Medical Center security guard was dragged by a car after an incident with skateboarders.
The guard told two skateboarders to leave a construction area near the hospital in the 500 block of N. Rutan around 7:45 p.m. Friday. The suspects refused, so the guard went over to the car they drove to get the tag number.
The skateboarders hopped in the car and backed it up, catching the security guard in the driver's side window. As they sped off, it dragged the guard about 30 feet, according to Wichita Police Sgt. Jim Pinegar.
The guard had a broken hand and lacerations. The suspects escaped.
