Wichita Police investigating an alleged kidnapping were eventually led to a home in Plainview that became the scene of a standoff.

It began when someone called 911 around 8 p.m. to report seeing a woman being kidnapped in the 3100 block of S. Davidson.

Police arrived and began searching for a red Dodge Durango described as the vehicle used by the kidnapper. The vehicle wasn't located and police cleared the area.

A short time later, the witness called again to report seeing the vehicle in the area again. Police returned and made contact with the people inside the car.

Sgt. Dan Oblinger told our news partners at KWCH 12 that the driver told police they had dropped the suspect and alleged victim off at a home nearby. Police went to the home and tried to speak with the people inside, but they refused.

A perimeter was set up around the home and the SWAT team was called to area. Negotiators were eventually able to convince everyone inside to come out.

The incident is still under investigation and it's unclear yet if there really was a kidnapping.
