Electrical problem at Waterwalk Waltzing Waters fountains
The cause of an electrical malfunction that prevented operation of the "Waterwalk Waltzing Waters fountains" display is unknown.
A City of Wichita spokesman said displays have been put on hold as repairs to a pump and electrical circuits are being made. The cause of the breakdown is not known at this time.
The fountains were unveiled to the public in downtown Wichita on Saturday. The shows are expected to resume this weekend.
“On behalf of the City of Wichita, I would like to apologize to those who visited the Waltzing Waters on Sunday expecting to see a show,” said John D’Angelo, manager of the city’s Arts & Cultural Services Division. “A lot of work was done to get the fountains ready for continuous use. Unfortunately, this was an unforeseen circumstance.”
The fountains are 150-feet long, located east of Gander Mountain.
