Two arrested for firing shots in residential areas
Police arrested two men for allegedly firing shots in two different locations overnight in Wichita.
It started around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday when a man who lives the 6800 block of Par Lane said a 32-year-old man started pounding on his door while holding a gun. The suspect reportedly fired 5 or 6 shots while driving away.
"The victim claims he doesn't know why the subject was shooting at him," said police Lt. Joe Schroeder. "He notified 911. Officers responded and found shell casings in the street."
At 2 a.m. another person reported seeing someone in a red Cadillac firing shots at the intersection of Tyler and University.
Officers later stopped the car at the QuikTrip at 242 S. Tyler and arrested two men, ages 31 and 32. Both were booked into jail for criminal discharge of a firearm and possession of narcotics.
No one was hurt in the shooting incidents.
