Police find handicapped teen in dark, cold home
Police are looking into what caused a father to abandon his handicapped teenage son. An anonymous caller alerted police to a home in the 2600 block of east Orchard around 11 Saturday night.
There, police found the teen in a home with no electricity and a space heater that was being run from a nearby neighbor's home. The boy told police he had went all day without eating.
Wichita Police Sergeant Bart Brunscheen says that attempts to locate the boy's father were unsuccessful.
Police are continuing their investigation.
