West side business burglarized
Wichita police used a combination of the cold temperatures and security cameras to capture two would-be copper thieves.
Someone called police around 5 a.m. Sunday to report seeing a burglary in progress on camera at Cook's Heating and Air Conditioning in the 2200 block of S. West St.
The caller told police the robbers were loading a trailer with copper and other items from the business.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the two men fled into a nearby drainage tunnel filled with mud and water.
The men face charges of burglary, theft and criminal possession of property.
