Wichita Police say 26-year-old Thomas Clough of Wichita was the man who died early Saturday during a multi-car crash in the eastbound lanes of Kellogg at Seneca.

Lieutenant Doug Nolte said Clough's 19-year-old fiance is improving at a Wichita hospital. She received critical injuries.

Clough's car was struck broadside by another car after Clough's car was first struck by another vehicle. Schroeder said it's not clear why Clough's Mazda drifted to the right into another lane, where it collided with the pickup and then spun out of control.  Schroeder said at this time there's nothing to indicate that alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.

Schroeder said there was a second crash involving four vehicles that tried to avoid the first crash. In all, six people were injured in the crashes.
