Wichitans for Healthy Teeth announced that more than half the infrastructure costs for fluoridating Wichita's water supply have been raided by private funders.

Private funders have committed $1.35 million, or nearly 60 percent of the cost of the infrastructure needed for fluoridation.

The organization said other funders have indicated they will wait for the results of the ballot initiative before committing to donate. The organization said it hopes to raise the funds to cover all of the startup costs for the city of Wichita.
