Wichita Fire Department stresses Halloween Safety
The Wichita Fire Department is stressing Halloween safety to help youth and young adults enjoy trick or treating on Wednesday night.
A spokesman said use a flashlight rather than a candle to illuminate pumpkins and reduce the possibility of a fire, purchase only "flame proof" or "flame retardant" costumes and masks and check all candy before eating.
Report anything suspicious to police. The spokesman also encourages having a Halloween party at home to keep youngsters off the streets and if you go door-to-door, travel in a group to improve safety.
